Members of the Ontario Working Group (OWG) for Early Psychosis Intervention met monthly from September to November, and will meet once more before year end. Two objectives were defined.
The first is to expand the Community of Interest (CoI) working group to include relevant stakeholders or participants from the Education sector. The second is to ensure that key mental health-related components in the Education sector have appropriate knowledge about psychosis in youth and the importance of early intervention.
Progress was made on both objectives. Board-level representatives were identified and invited to join the CoI. System-level representatives are currently being identified. In collaboration with our new Education stakeholders, strategies are being planned to embed information about psychosis and early intervention into relevant mental health documents and guidelines.
Action has also begun on designing two Infographics that will be used as communication vehicles with different target audiences within Education.
